Abstract

This thesis focuses on the question of the pendulum mobility in the grand El Jadida especially the flows from the suburbs. Following its attractiveness since the early 1980s, by the location of various developmental projects especially Jorf Lasfar industrial Port Complex, the university and tourist projects, a functional complementarity is established between centers and the territorial collectivities of the grand El Jadida. From this complementarity, the populations of the suburb are in front of the constraint of moving out daily between home and working places and pursue studies. Thus, this thesis, on the one hand, consists in the analysis of the relation between the pendulum mobility and its transaction (agglomeration), and between the pendulum mobility and inter-TC system (bus mode) on the other hand.It was conducted by adopting the systemic approach. In addition to the literature review, an empirical study involved 4% of households in the suburbs, semi-structured interviews with the actors in the TC and TC watching terminus. The results show that the functional complementarity of the grand El Jadida, its demographic and urban dynamics including its suburbs and residential mobility in the hinterland of the province, strongly explain the existence and intensity of the pendulum mobility in the population life. In addition, the public transportation, despite the interventions that aim its improvement by the entry into force of delegated management and inter-communal by a new operator since 2014, the gap still persists between the pendulum mobility as it is perceived and the inter-communal public transportation at the serving, movements time (waiting and displacement), infrastructure (roads, terminals and bus stops) and the service quality. This research has helped to analyze a topical issue for geography in Morocco and elsewhere.
